A Coaster for the Kids?

I know that they present the Primeval Whirl Animal Kingdom Roller Coaster as a ride designed for the younger crowd, but have you been on it as an adult? Whether you have been to Animal Kingdom to ride the Coasters in the past or not, don’t let this one fool you into thinking that it is just a simple ride for kids. In fact, I would venture to say that this ride is much scarier than any of the other rides in the park.

How could you say such a thing? It is just a simple kids ride! Here is the thing, you will see the little ones getting on and off of this ride and they are not really affected because there are not any loops or barrel roles on this ride. To them, the Primeval Whirl Animal Kingdom looks smaller with tiny hill climbs and little drops here and there. The kids are not as capable to notice that when you are high on the top of this ride, you are being sent back and forth down the track making hairpin turns, where, at any given moment it feels as if you are going to come off of the rails and your car is going to go careening to the ground. That could have been a little over dramatic but wait until you ride this ride and see for yourself. Maybe, as you get older you start to sense things a little more than when you were young and being slung around a radical curve multiple times at the top of the ride, can become unnerving for some. It is a lot of fun to ride and is worth doing over and over with the kids just realize that there is more to it, for most people, that what it appears.

Where is the Primeval Whirl?

As you are spending time with your family looking at all of the fun adventures in Dinoland U.S.A you will eventually run into the Primeval Whirl roller coaster. Decorated with Dinosaurs and Planets, it is a very inviting adventure for the entire group. Take a trip back in time to when Dinosaurs roamed the earth and just try to get away in your vehicle zooming along the track that makes up the Primeval Whirl.

What to expect?

Each of the ride vehicles are circular and holds up to 4 riders at a time all lined across the back in individual seats. As you start up the initial climb hill, you are taken to the top by a mechanical chain type of system. When released at the top, the fun really begins. First you make a hard turn to the left and as you take a gradual decline down the red track, you will have a number of very sharp turns that will send you in the opposite direction. There are a number of drops and climbs along the way and as you make it about half way through your ride you find out about the final turn of events, literally. The vehicle breaks loose and starts to spin, first in one direction and later it will reverse the spin direction just to make sure you don’t get bored along the way. A couple of small dips at the end and then you come to a stop, round the corner and get out of your ride vehicle. The kids will want to ride this over and over so be prepared.

All in all, this is a very fun adventure to take together and your family will talk about this ride and how fun it was through your entire visit. So, be sure to stop off at the Primeval Whirl Animal Kingdom and take the family for a spin.
